From my Grandma Della's journal: (She was 91 when she wrote this) on November 1, 1991
My Doll
"On day I went to Grandma's,
and forgot to take my doll
I could not play without one
I had no fun at all,
So Grandma made a dollie -
just like the one you know -
she had when she was little
so many years ago.
She took a nice clean corn cob
And made the face with ink -
The undershirt had lace on-
The dress was made of pink.
You couldn't fasten arms on,
So Grandma made a shawl,
and pinned it round so nicely,
you wouldn't know at all.
The hair was made of corn silk -
A pretty color brown.
I think my corn cob dolly -
Is the nicest dollie in the town.
