Memorial Day

I can't let the day go by without acknowledging that it is the day that we in these United States recognize and honor the brave men and women who have sacrificed in battle and service to preserve our freedom.

My husband is a veteran, and I include him and my uncles during World War II and my classmates who served in Vietnam. My husband was in Thailand during the Vietnam War, and there was action there as well as Vietnam. He really does not talk about it, as many of those that served in Vietnam do not talk about their experience. Two of my brothers were in the National Guard Service during the Vietnam War, and our family is very thankful to the active duty service men that gave their service so that my brothers unit did not have to be activated. Now, during this war we are in, the National Guard's are the ones that are preserving our freedom. Thank you to our servicemen.

May we all remember our troops overseas, our troops here, and all those that sacrificed their lives for us.
